WHY the ICRH EXISTS
International operations require pilots to navigate ambiguous regulations, scattered source documents, and time-compressed decisions. The International Cockpit Reference Handbook (ICRH®) consolidates the operational doctrine into a single, current, pilot-authored reference. Used as a textbook during Scott IPC International Procedures Training, and pulled out at altitude when the answer is needed. The same instructors who teach the procedures author every page.
Phase-of-flight checklists, regional procedures, operational topics, contingencies, and the Scott Notes that clarify ambiguous guidance; the ICRH covers the operational discipline international crews need at every stage of flight.

It’s 3 AM over the North Atlantic. The procedure is written ambiguously. The decision needs to happen now.
Scott Notes are the cockpit-ready interpretation. Found throughout the ICRH, they turn ambiguous source language into actionable guidance; written for the cockpit, not the conference room. Read them during International Procedures Training. Reference them in flight when the rule or procedure needs to be acted on.

International operations don’t sit still. NAT Doc 007 gets revised. FAA Advisory Circulars get updated. ICAO publishes amendments. Regional procedures shift. The ICRH is continuously updated, revised, and improved against every change; the reference in your iPad reflects the regulation in force, not the regulation when you trained.

AUTHORSHIP
The ICRH isn’t licensed content, and it isn’t generated. It’s written by the Scott IPC instructors: experienced international pilots and former FAA inspectors who helped support the regulations now in force. Every chapter is reviewed against real operations and current regulations before it ships.
Since 2020, crews have opened the Scott IPC app — and the ICRH inside it — from more than 170 countries and territories, across every inhabited continent. From the North Atlantic to the South Pacific, if crews are flying the route, they’re referencing the ICRH.
