Module # 11J NAT Tracks:

  • With the changes to the North Atlantic (NAT) High Level Airspace (HLA) and the migration to Performance Based Navigation (PBN), the track message has evolved as well. This module breaks out where we are now with the new track messages to ensure a full understanding of all of the information presented on the track message. It also addresses the construction considerations of the tracks as well as the publication process.

Module # 6 CARICOM E-APIS Requirements:

  • Introduce the Caribbean Community / Implementation Agency for Crime and Security
  • Identify countries of concern and members
  • Identify procedures for E-APIS reporting thru approved portals
  • Timeframes, fees, general procedures
  • Online resources

Module # 3A Basic Advanced Navigation Exercise:

  • Build a navigation log integrating a diversion plan with ETP’s, (Equal Time Points) using non electronic means
  • Analyze and develop ETP’s and PSR’s (Point of Safe Returns) using basic non electronic means
  • Explore various techniques for position accuracy checks given different equipment configuration and the associated plotting with each (with operational navigation system)
  • Explore various techniques for determining and plotting positions given total navigation system failures
  • Use basic non-electronic tools to determine drift corrections, true courses, mach/true airspeed conversions, true headings, mag headings, ground speeds, distances, final leg times
  • Tools employed – CR3 computer, calculator, divider, navigation log (manually created paper flight plan), plotter, plotting charts

  • A description and review of the tools found on the ScottIPC NAT HLA Plotting Chart
    • Partially computes Equal Time Points
    • CPDLC information
    • Initial, Average Mag Course information
    • Radial DME instructions
    • Tool for active track message from QRL scan with jetstream and weather overlay
