Scott International Procedures, L.L.C. (SIPC)

Notice: The materials and services that SIPC provides to you are subject to the following Terms of Use (“TOU”).

Through its use of printed materials, electronic materials, Scott Plot®, International Cockpit Reference Handbook®, website and content (http://www.scottipc.com), and products, SIPC provides you the client with access to a variety of resources, tools, download areas, communication forums, and product information (collectively “Services”). The Services, including any updates, enhancements, write-ups, presentations, new features, and/or the addition of any new web content, are subject to the TOU.  Printed materials used in training and electronic information and content not produced by a Government Agency, including the FAA, are the intellectual property of SIPC and are identified as such and protected by copyright, as well as state and federal law.

Unless otherwise specified, the Services are for clients’ personal and non-commercial use, and the Client is granted a limited license to use the Services subject to the restrictions contained in the TOU. The client may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, or sell any information, software, products, or services obtained from the Services.  All SIPC training material presentations are copyrighted and may not be reproduced in any manner without express approval.  Copies of SIPC materials and access to password-protected areas of the website are assigned to the individual Client. Usernames and passwords for the SIPC iOS app are assigned to each individual Client who attends SIPC training. Access is not to be shared with any other individual or company. Companies, individuals, and employees of companies who provide, intend to provide, or are developing International Procedures training are excluded from the right to attend any SIPC training class, live or online. It becomes the responsibility and liability of the Client to exclude these individuals from attending SIPC training classes (scheduled by Authorized Representative) and from having access to any of SIPC’s “Services” as listed above.  SIPC reserves the right to cancel or modify this agreement at any time for any reason.

By downloading the SIPC iOS app, the Client agrees to the License Agreement contained with the SIPC iOS app.

Client, through their Authorized Representative, acknowledges and agrees with this Training Services Agreement, including Terms of Use.

SIPC Electronic iOS app:

  • Access/Download to App
  • Clients agree to download SIPC app from the Apple Store and to follow all protocols and Terms of Use for therein.
  • Single User/Single Device
  • Subscription to the SIPC app is based on a single user.
  • Subscription will be charged annually at a monthly rate.
  • Client agrees to SIPC terms for payment and subscription renewal.
  • Client agrees to limit the number of devices in which the SIPC app can be downloaded to one device.

Training Access

  • Client agrees to work with SIPC Client Service to arrange access to web-based training.
  • SIPC agrees to keep training up to date with current developments and with enhancements to SIPC app.

Propriety (trademark) of App

  • Client agrees to honor the terms of SIPC trademark.
  • Client agrees to no unauthorized copying or reproduction of trademarked materials.

Propriety of Training

  • Client agrees to honor the terms of SIPC trademark.
  • Client agrees to no unauthorized copying or reproduction of trademarked materials.

Client/Technical Support

  • Client agrees to follow established channels for obtaining client support services.
  • Client is encouraged to provide feedback through mechanisms built into the app.

Definitions:

Live IPC: A training event utilizing a live instructor at either Client’s desired location or a location specified by SIPC.

Live Remote IPC: A live instructor-led training event conducted using an internet virtual meeting platform.

Outside Attendee: Someone who joins an existing open class with no affiliation with the host Client.  Outside attendees will receive a confirmation email for enrollment.

Online Training:  Training curriculum presented via the SIPC training portal system. All subjects are predeveloped with no live interaction with an instructor.  Attendees may contact SIPC instructors for questions, and the instructors will respond according to availability.

Closed Live IPC: A Live or Remote Live IPC training event presented to the host Client only with no outside attendees.  Minimum attendees of 8 are required to present a closed Live class.

Open Live IPC: A Live IPC can be established by the Client or SIPC. If established by the client, the Client is the class host. The client has a reduced minimum requirement for attendees. SIPC has the right to place additional attendees into the class.  Host Clients are obligated for the minimum attendees defined in the class TSA.  Outside attendees, joining the class and invited by the host Client to fulfill the Client TSA minimums will be included on the host Client invoice as specified by the TSA.  Outside attendees joining the class that are not part of the host Client minimums will be invoiced according to their individual Client TSA.

Minimums: For Clients establishing a class date.  

  • For a Live Remote IPC
    • A closed Remote-Live IPC requires 8 attendees under the Remote Live host Client TSA
    • An open Remote-Live class normally requires a minimum of 3 attendees for and under the client requesting the class.
  • For a Live IPC at the Client’s location
    • A closed Live class requires 8 attendees under the host client TSA.
    • An open Live class requires 6 attendees under the host client TSA.
  • SIPC established Live or Remote Live IPC
    • No minimums apply as all SIPC established classes are open enrollment.

*SIPC reserves the right to modify minimums at its sole discretion.

Pricing​:

Clients will be charged a base rate for training as presented in the Training Services Agreement  (“TSA”) per attendee.  Pilots may be added to the training event after the TSA is signed and will be charged according to the applicable TSA price per attendee added.

The TSA price includes the price quotes for the modules and support subscriptions included on the TSA for the training event.  Training events include Live Instructor On-site Training or Remote Live Instructor-led training.   All materials needed for the class excluding electronic hardware, as needed, will be shipped to Client, at Client’s expense, to the training class location.

Clients agree not to share quoted pricing to outside attendees not included in the Client’s TSA. Outside attendees joining an open class will need to address SIPC for the price of their training. ​Any expenses not quoted on the TSA will be invoiced after the class.

Late Payment for Clients approved for invoicing:
Invoices are due within 30 net days. 
Payments not received within 30 net days of the invoice date will be charged 5% late fees each month the invoice remains unpaid.  Access and enrollment to the SIPC Services may, at SIPC’s discretion, be disabled if payment is not received within 30 net days.

Cancellation Policies: 

For a Live Training onsite class with direct payment arrangement in place:

Once the TSA is signed, if the training event is canceled and not rescheduled within three months of the original training date, the client will be obligated to reimburse SIPC any applicable expenses incurred prior to the class, including but not limited to: shipping fees, lost materials fees, facility rental fees, catering for host Client arrangements, ground transportation, airfare, standard hotel accommodations for instructor(s), and instructors’ enroute commitment.  
Reimbursement fees are due within 30 net days.  

Pilots who miss attendance for Live Training Events - Host Company:

If a pilot that is included in a host Client TSA misses a training event, that slot is still invoiced and no slots may be applied towards another training event (live or online). ​ On a case by case basis and at SIPC’s discretion, slots may be used to attend a different live class as long as it is an open live event and scheduled to commence within three months of the original training date.  At SIPC’s discretion and after consultation with Client, attendees missing a training event may be enrolled in an online course. An online enrollment may incur additional expenses.

Missed attendance for Live Training Events - Outside Attendee:

If the cancellation is made less than five days prior to the scheduled live training event, the client will incur a late cancellation or no show fee, as outlined on the class enrollment policy provided at the time of enrollment, along with any additional shipment costs accrued.

For a Live Remote IPC with direct payment arrangement in place:

If the cancellation is made greater than five days prior to the scheduled event, Client will be obligated to return the materials at Client cost and will be obligated to reimburse SIPC any expenses incurred prior to the class, including but not limited to: lost materials fees, instructor expenses incurred for a custom developed class to be paid within 30 net days.

If the cancellation is made three to five days prior to the scheduled event, Client will be obligated to return the physical materials at Client cost, including but not limited to: instructor expenses incurred for a custom developed class, original shipping fees, lost materials fees, and a 5% administration fee will be withheld to be paid within 30 net days.

 If the cancellation is made less than 72 hours of the training class start date, one of these three will apply:

  1. The physical materials are not returned within 30 net days; Client will be obligated to the cost of lost materials, original shipping fees, a 5% administration fee will be withheld, and no services rendered.
  2. The physical materials are returned within 30 net days of cancellation; Client will be obligated to the cost of original shipping fees, a 5% administration fee will be withheld, and no services rendered.
  3. Client will be automatically enrolled for online training, forgoing any material, shipping, or administration fees.

*SIPC reserves the right, without compensation to enrollee, to cancel and or reschedule the course due to host Client date requirement changes, inclement weather, illness or other force majeure causes. Enrollment in our training constitutes acceptance of our policies. Please note that late cancellation or no show fee will not be applied as a credit to a future training event.

Online Course Refunds:

Generally, online training course orders are not eligible for a refund due to cancellation. We may approve a refund request provided the Client meets both of the following requirements:

  1. The client must notify us, in writing, of their desire to cancel within 72-hours of placing the online order. Requests must be sent via email (verbal requests are not sufficient) to the following address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and;
  2. The client must not have logged into the training modules and exceeded the maximum training time allowed for any online course:
  • Courses with a total course time of (30 minutes to 1 hour): 10 minutes maximum
  • Courses with a total course time of (1 hour to 2 hours): 15 minutes maximum
  • Courses with a total course time of (2 hours to 7 hours, 59 minutes): 20 minutes maximum
  • Courses with a total course time of (8 Hours or more): 30 minutes maximum

Other Terms and Conditions:

  • If the cancellation is done within 72 hours of subscribing and the physical materials are returned at Client cost; original shipping fees, and a 5% administration fee will be withheld.
  • If the cancellation is done within 72 hours of subscribing and the physical materials are not returned; the cost of lost materials, original shipping fees, and a 5% administration fee will be withheld.
  • If the request is made after 72-hours or the client has completed more than the maximum allotted training time (indicated above) the tuition is non-refundable.

Online training courses may not be transferred to another Client.

  • Clients have 90 days (3 months) to complete an online course.
  • Clients who have left the employ of a company are not eligible for credit or refund of any kind, regardless of time spent in the course or time remaining. Access to digital resources will be terminated.

Online Course Extension Policy:

  • Clients have 90 days from the date of registration to complete all online courses. Clients may request a 1-week extension provided the request is made before the training course expires.
  • Clients with an expiry date no greater than 3 weeks past, may purchase a one-time-only, 3-month online extension.
  • Clients with an expiry date greater than 3 weeks past who wish to restore access to the training, will need to re-enroll at standard pricing for continued admission.
