This module provides the pilot with an overview of procedures regarding oceanic clearances in the North Atlantic. It covers the various means of obtaining your clearance to include voice and data link. This module presents the contents of clearances for both voice and data link to include when changes have been made, either from filed or amended by ATC. Procedures are discussed as to the proper procedures to mitigate errors in loading and verifying that the clearance is correctly loaded in the navigation system. As the procedures for obtaining clearances vary slightly between FIRs, highlights of each of the six NAT FIRs are presented.

CZQX OCR Procedure Update
The procedure change described below for issuing route amendment clearances in Gander Domestic airspace will be conducted as a trial between 5 May 2025 and 31 December 2025. Check current NOTAMs for any changes to this procedure.
Due to ATC workload and pilot confusion regarding oceanic route clearance changes issued through CPDLC, Gander Flight Information Region (CDQX FIR), Gander Domestic controllers will be issuing oceanic route amendments via VHF voice communications in lieu of CPDLC uplink route amendment clearance messages.

Great presentation on par with Shawn's online course. (My third recurrent with you.) Don did a nice job tailoring material to our flight operations specific to North Atlantic. One nice update to note is the ICRH...Truly THE benchmark for quick easy access to pertinent information. Great job!
Look forward to next learning session.
Kind regards,
